We are looking for a committed teacher who is passionate about child development and knowledgeable about play based learning. Bring your creative and goofy energy to inspire little ones and connect with the members of our unique cooperative community.
About Us
Bright Prospects, a small cooperative preschool in south Minneapolis, has been nurturing respectful, curious, and self-reliant little individuals since 1948. We focus on play, learning, and building community. Principles of social justice, inclusiveness, and environmental stewardship are interwoven into our curriculum. The vibrant community of cooperative families handles the administration and supports the teachers in creating a program they are proud of.
About You
You’re ready to take on the role of second teacher for a classroom of 15 children!
~28.5 hours a week.
School hours: 9am-12pm M-T, 9am-2pm W-F
First prep day in mid-August 2024
Our school calendar approximately follows the Minneapolis Public School calendar
You’re confident to lead a classroom on your own at times

You’ve met the Minimum Qualifications:
Meet the Department of Human Services (DHS) requirements for Preschool Teacher with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Early Childhood Education or related field.
Associate degrees in Early Childhood will be considered
Have current CPR and First Aid training or be willing to be trained within 60 days of hire
Pass background check
About the Compensation
$19-$22 an hour starting, depending on experience and education
Paid holidays, PTO, SIMPLE IRA match up to 3%
Paid training time, up to 24 hours a year
Great Start Grant eligible
State-run program, subject to availability
Typically ~ $2/hr bonus
